Stop crying, accept AJK polls results with ‘open heart’, Maryam hits back at Bilawal

The situation in Pakistan has taken a dramatic turn as the results of the AJK (Azad Jammu and Kashmir) polls have been announced. The elections were held on July 28, with the aim of selecting the next Chief Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif addressed the media after receiving the results from the polling stations in Srinagar. She urged her party to accept its defeat gracefully, stating that it was a natural outcome of the democratic process.

The PPP (Pakistan Peoples Party) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari took to social media to express his disappointment and frustration with the election results. He claimed that Maryam Nawaz’s party had cheated in the polls and urged her to accept defeat “with an open heart”.

However, Maryam Nawaz Sharif dismissed these claims as baseless and unfounded. She emphasized that the elections were conducted fairly and transparently, and there was no evidence of any irregularities or cheating.

The results show that the PPP has won a significant number of seats in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, but it is unclear how many seats they will occupy if Maryam Nawaz’s party forms an alliance. The Chief Minister also urged her party to work together with other parties to ensure a smooth transition of power.

In response to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s comments, the PPP has announced that it will not contest any by-elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This move is seen as a significant concession from the party, which had been expected to win several seats in the polls.

The situation remains tense, with both parties vowing to fight for their claims of victory. The election results have sparked widespread celebrations in Srinagar, where thousands of people gathered at polling stations to cast their votes.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is clear that Maryam Nawaz’s party will need to work hard to build trust and credibility with voters if they are to succeed in the long run. Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, on the other hand, has vowed to continue his campaign against Maryam Nawaz’s government.

The outcome of these elections will have significant implications for Pakistan’s politics and governance. The results may also set a precedent for future elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, where the Chief Minister is elected through a direct popular vote.
