Israel kills Palestinian, destroys mosque in Gaza
**Israel Strikes Gaza, Displacing Hundreds**
A devastating attack has been carried out against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, with reports indicating that at least one person was killed and over 12 injured. The incident occurred when Israeli jets targeted a mosque near the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) building in Gaza City.
According to eyewitnesses, the strike began on Tuesday evening, with Israeli warplanes carrying out a series of air strikes focusing on central and northern Gaza. “The whole area was warned, but a very narrow window of time was given for people to take precautionary measures,” said Tareq Abu Azzoum, reporting from Deir el-Balah.
Abu Azzoum stated that the strike targeted a group of Palestinians in a busy market, killing one person and wounding at least 20 others. “People are caught in an endless cycle of fear that persists, in case of any further strikes by Israel,” he said.
The attack is part of a broader pattern of violence targeting Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank. Settler attacks continue to plague the region, with Israeli settlers setting fire to buildings and spraying graffiti on walls before torching them. In recent days, eight Palestinians have fled their homes after settler attacks in Abu Najim.
Meanwhile, Israel has been confiscating more land from Palestinian communities in the occupied West Bank. According to Wafa news agency, Israeli authorities are issuing military orders seizing about 200 dunums (20 hectares or 49 acres) of land from towns in the Jenin governorate. This is part of a larger effort to expand settlements and build new roads.
The confiscation of land has led to an increase in settler violence targeting Palestinians. Tareq Aghbaria, a Jenin settlement affairs official, reported that there have been 14 orders issued by the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission allocating land for construction and expansion of military roads. These orders are concentrated mainly in southern areas such as Arrabeh, Qabatiya, and Misilya.
The situation in Gaza is dire, with reports indicating that hundreds of displaced Palestinians are seeking shelter in tents or other makeshift structures. The Al-Muttaqin Mosque, near the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) building in Gaza City, was destroyed during the attack on Tuesday evening.
As tensions continue to escalate, it remains unclear what measures will be taken to address the situation. However, one thing is clear: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to worsen, with civilians caught in the crossfire between rival factions.
