Senator Jim Banks targets alleged China-linked Singham network in fiery floor speech
In a scathing rebuke of Senator Neville Roy Singham’s vast nonprofit network, which has allegedly helped China wage “political warfare” against the United States, Sen. Jim Banks called out the Chinese tech tycoon on Wednesday.
Singham, 72, sold his tech company for $785 million in 2017 and now lives in Shanghai, where he shares an office with a CCP propaganda outlet whose mission is to tell China’s story well. According to a Fox News Digital investigation, Singham has funneled $278 million into the broad network of nonprofits since 2017.
These groups regularly organize and participate in anti-ICE, anti-Israel, and pro-Iran demonstrations, which have been condemned by some lawmakers as radical. However, after Singham started lavishly funding these organizations, Code Pink, a radical group that has clashed with Sen. Jim Banks on Capitol Hill, stopped criticizing the Chinese government and began defending it.
Code Pink regularly confronts lawmakers on Capitol Hill, stating that “China is Not Our Enemy.” Evans and Singham have not responded to Fox News Digital’s repeated requests for comment.
Sen. Rick Scott was targeted by Code Pink over his question about whether they were bothered by the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel. The group did not respond to Scott’s inquiry.
Meanwhile, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been calling out networks that are coordinating across multiple countries and providing training instructions to foment unrest. He stated that international cooperation is critical in disrupting financing for dangerous organizations, including those linked to China.
Singham currently faces a grand jury investigation in the Southern District of New York, which was authorized by acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. The probe focuses on Singham’s finances and seeks to uncover any financial crimes related to his pro-CCP network.
The investigation has been ongoing since earlier this year when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Goldman Sachs Chairman David Solomon in New York. According to sources familiar with the meeting, a cooperative approach was taken by both parties, but no distributions from Singham’s donor-advised fund have been made since August 2023.
Singham has not been charged to date despite being under investigation for potential financial crimes related to his network.
