A prominent journalist with Geo News London Bureau has been assaulted while covering a protest in support of Kashmir. Murtaza Ali Shah, a well-known reporter and editor, was reportedly attacked by an unknown individual on Wednesday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at approximately 8:45 pm when Shah was attempting to cover a march from Hyde Park to the Pakistan Embassy in London’s Kensington area. The protest, which is organized by supporters of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAC), aimed to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue and demand an end to India’s military presence in the region.
Shah, who has been with Geo News for several years, was reportedly beaten on his head and face before being left injured. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with protesters and security personnel present at the location.
“It was a very scary situation,” said one eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous. “I saw Murtaza getting attacked by someone, and then he fell to the ground. I tried to help him, but it was too late.”
