**American Climber’s Remains Found After Avalanche in Pakistan**

A devastating avalanche has claimed the life of an American mountain climber in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountain range. Sarah Mallory Geis, 26, who was part of a group of at least 10 climbers from around the world, perished on Thursday while attempting to conquer Broad Peak.

The incident occurred when the group became trapped in a snowstorm and lost contact with their base camp. A rescue team was dispatched to locate the missing climbers, but due to severe weather conditions, they were forced to suspend operations temporarily.

According to Pakistani officials, drone footage revealed signs of several more bodies where the search area had been located earlier that day. The remains of Nadhira Ahmed Abdullah Al Harthy from Oman and Pur Bahadur Gurung from Nepal have also been found, bringing the total number of missing climbers to at least 12.

The Broad Peak mountain range, standing at an impressive 26,414 feet (8,035 meters) above sea level, is considered one of the most challenging climbs in the world. The extreme altitude and harsh weather conditions make it a formidable challenge for even experienced mountaineers.

“We are working tirelessly to locate all missing climbers and ensure their safe return,” said Irfan Arshad, president of the Alpine Club of Pakistan. “The rescue operation is being carried out with utmost caution due to the remote and difficult terrain.”

The search area has been cordoned off, and a temporary base camp has been set up for the rescue team. The high-altitude porters and rescue teams are working around the clock to retrieve the bodies and transport them to the base camp.

Renowned British mountaineer Nirmal Purja, who was featured in the Netflix documentary “14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible,” is among the missing climbers. His disappearance has sparked a global outpouring of support for his family and loved ones.

The search operation is ongoing, with local officials warning that the weather conditions remain hazardous. The rescue team’s efforts are being closely monitored by international authorities, who are working to ensure the safe return of all missing climbers.
