American Business Council Hosts U.S. Delegation to Advance Pakistan–U.S. Investment Cooperation

KARACHI, Pakistan — July 30, 2026: The American Business Council of Pakistan (ABC) hosted a high-level U.S. business and congressional delegation to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and long-term economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
The delegation’s visit was facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, bringing together American business leaders, members of Congress, representatives from the Embassy of Pakistan in the United States, SIFC officials, and senior executives from Pakistan’s private sector.
The strategic dialogue focused on transforming the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries into tangible commercial partnerships across key sectors, including technology, energy, minerals, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
Speaking during the meeting, ABC President Akram Wali Muhammad emphasized that Pakistan is entering a new phase of economic opportunity and is well-positioned to attract international investors.
“Pakistan is better positioned today to attract serious investment, build global partnerships and create opportunities for its young population. The time has come to convert dialogue into investment and investment into jobs,” he said.
In a message directed to overseas Pakistanis, Muhammad encouraged members of the Pakistani diaspora to play an active role in the country’s economic transformation.
“Come home. Bring your experience, ideas and networks. Build businesses here, invest here and create opportunities for yourselves and for Pakistan’s youth. Challenges exist everywhere, but Pakistan offers tremendous untapped potential. Work with us, collaborate with us and become part of Pakistan’s economic future.”
He noted that Pakistan’s youthful workforce, strategic geographic location, and expanding investment opportunities make it an attractive destination for foreign investors seeking long-term growth.
Muhammad also praised the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the Government of Pakistan for creating a more investor-friendly environment through coordinated institutional support and streamlined facilitation processes. He reaffirmed the American Business Council’s commitment to serving as a bridge between U.S. businesses and Pakistani institutions, helping strengthen commercial ties and encouraging sustainable investment.
Participants at the meeting discussed practical ways to expand bilateral trade, improve investment flows, and establish commercially viable partnerships that contribute to Pakistan’s long-term economic development.
The discussions concluded with a shared commitment to deepening Pakistan–U.S. economic relations through increased collaboration between governments, businesses, and investors.
