Pakistan’s Women’s Boxing Team Secures First Commonwealth Games Medal with Bronze in 60kg Event
KARACHI – In a thrilling display of athleticism and determination, Pakistan’s women’s boxing team secured its first medal at the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games, as Fatima Zahra claimed a bronze medal in the 60kg event.
The competition saw all eyes on Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem to produce the goods, but it was Fatima who ultimately picked up the silver. Despite qualifying for the semifinals of the 60kg event, Fatima lost to Canada’s Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh in a closely contested match.

Indian star Neeraj Chopra also put up an impressive display, throwing a world-class 85.83 meters in second place.
