Islamabad — August 12, 2026: The Press Council of Pakistan (PCP) organized a special seminar focusing on Marka-e-Haq and National Day, bringing together representatives from the government, judiciary, media, and youth to discuss national values, journalism, social challenges, and the role of young people in Pakistan’s future.

The event was attended by Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and MNA Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary, Chairman of the Press Council of Pakistan, Deputy Attorney General of the Federal Shariat Court Mian Faisal, and other prominent figures from different sectors.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Faisal Bin Naseer, followed by presentations prepared by PCP interns on various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Youth Highlight Social Challenges

The interns presented their research on social issues and challenges facing Pakistani society. Their presentations also focused on possible solutions and highlighted the efforts of young people to better understand and address these issues.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Press Council of Pakistan emphasized the importance of the council’s internship programme in providing young people with practical experience in journalism, research, and social issues.

He said the programme was designed to help young people develop professional skills while gaining practical exposure to issues affecting society. He also disclosed that he had personally provided financial support for the internship programme and related expenses to help ensure that the initiative continued effectively.

The Chairman also acknowledged the support of Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary, whose cooperation, according to the PCP, contributed to the continuation and improvement of the internship programme.

Daniyal Chaudhary Highlights Responsible Journalism

Addressing the gathering, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary praised the interns for their presentations and appreciated their efforts and commitment.

He spoke about the changing role of journalism and the challenges facing the profession in the modern era. He noted that society is confronting a number of emerging challenges, including what he described as a weakening of moral and social values.

The parliamentary secretary stressed that journalists should perform their responsibilities according to principles of truth, ethics, and professional responsibility. He also encouraged young people to play a constructive role in addressing social challenges and contributing to positive change.

Certificates Distributed to Interns

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among PCP interns. Barrister Daniyal Chaudhary and the Chairman of the Press Council jointly presented certificates to the interns in recognition of their participation and performance during the programme.

The event highlighted the importance of providing young people with opportunities for education, research, journalism, and practical training. Participants emphasized that empowering youth can help them better understand Pakistan’s social challenges and contribute constructively to society.

National Pride and Independence Day Message

The participants also emphasized that Pakistan’s development, national integrity, and stability should remain among the country’s foremost priorities.

They noted that this year’s Independence Day celebrations carry an added sense of national pride, with the occasion being marked alongside what participants described as the joy of victory.

The seminar concluded with a message emphasizing national unity and pride, with participants expressing the sentiment:

“Pakistan is our identity. Pakistan Zindabad.” 🇵🇰
